CPCCDE4009 Supervise asbestos removal provides the skills and knowledge required to manage and oversee the removal of asbestos containing material (ACM) in a range of work environments. This course is designed for individuals who are responsible for leading asbestos removal teams and ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in full compliance with legislative requirements.
Participants will develop the capability to plan removal projects, coordinate site preparation, implement the Asbestos Removal Control Plan (ARCP), and monitor works to ensure safe and compliant practices are followed at every stage. The course also covers supervising decontamination processes, maintaining site safety systems, and ensuring correct documentation is completed.
A key focus of this unit is regulatory compliance. Supervisors must ensure that air monitoring, clearance inspections and certification are arranged and conducted by licensed asbestos assessors in accordance with current legislation.
This qualification applies to asbestos removal work undertaken in residential, commercial, demolition and construction settings, as well as specialist environments such as ships, soil remediation and fencing projects.
