Skills First Funding

Learners may be eligible for government funding provided they meet set criteria. Information regarding eligibility for the Skills First funding and commensurate government subsidised rates is provided here for Learner reference. To be eligible for government subsidy under the Skills First funding a Learner must show proof of Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen and only able to enrol in two AQF Qualifications and two Skill Sets per calendar year and only two at any one time.

Holders of a Health Care Card issued by the Commonwealth, Pensioner Concession Card or Veteran’s Gold card will receive a concession on fees as detailed below.

Eligibility for industry and/or government subsidy and concessions will be confirmed as part of the enrolment process.


This schedule of fees represents the full (standard) cost of CFMEU Education and Training courses. Where fees are charged, they will be invoiced at the commencement of training. Information regarding payment is contained on the invoice – CFMEU Education and Training accepts credit cards (Visa, MasterCard) and electronic funds transfers. CFMEU Education and Training will not issue testamurs until invoices have been paid.

CFMEU Education and Training does not currently charge any additional fees for course materials, stationery or access to Learner services.

The student tuition fees as published are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment.


The policy applying to refunds training fees:

  • CFMEU Education and Training will take all steps to ensure Learners are able to attend the courses of their choice and as such refunds will be discouraged.
  • Full refunds will be made to Learners if the training provider cancels or discontinues the course.
  • Learners who withdraw from a course due to ill-health will receive a full refund or given the option to take up the course at a later date if they prefer. A full refund will only be provided on submission of a doctor’s certificate
  • The refund policy will be made known to all Learners on enrolment
