BSB51319 Diploma of Work Health and Safety
The Diploma of Work Health and Safety is a nationally recognised qualification that provides learners with the skills and knowledge needed to work as a Work Health and Safety (WHS) practitioner. The course is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles of WHS management and to develop the skills required to implement and maintain a safe workplace.
Course Duration
6 to 12 months

- BSBWHS412 Assist with workplace compliance with WHS laws
- BSBWHS413 Contribute to implementation and maintenance of WHS consultation and participation processes
- BSBWHS414 Contribute to WHS risk management
- BSBWHS415 Contribute to implementing WHS management systems
- BSBWHS416 Contribute to workplace incident response
Course Delivery:
This course may include written assignments, case studies, workplace projects, practical demonstrations, and workplace observation. Students will be required to demonstrate their competence in all units to achieve the qualification.

- BSBWHS518 Manage WHS hazards associated with maintenance and use of plant
- BSBWHS519 Lead the development and use of WHS risk management tools
- BSBWHS522 Manage WHS consultation and participation processes
Course Outcomes:
Graduates of the BSB51319 Diploma of Work Health and Safety can expect to find employment as WHS coordinators, WHS managers, WHS advisors, or as part of an organization’s WHS team. The course provides graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to manage WHS risks and hazards, develop and implement WHS management systems, and investigate incidents and accidents
