The Certificate III in Demolition is a nationally recognised qualification in Australia. It provides students with the skills and knowledge required to work as a demolition worker in the construction industry.

Course Delivery:

The course can be studied through a combination of classroom-based learning and on the job training. The course is competency-based, meaning that Learners will be assessed on their ability to perform specific tasks and meet industry standards.

Units of Competency:

  • CPCCCM2012 – Work safely at heights
  • CPCCDE3014 – Remove non-friable asbestos
  • CPCCDE3015 – Remove friable asbestos
  • CPCCDE3016 – Identify hazards on demolition sites and apply risk management strategies
  • CPCCDE3017 – Select and use hand tools and equipment for demolition tasks
  • CPCCDE3018 – Select and use small plant and equipment for demolition tasks
  • CPCCDE3019 – Demolish small buildings and structures using hand tools and small plant and equipment
  • CPCCDE3020 – Select and use tools and equipment for hot work in the demolition industry
  • CPCCDE3023 – Operate skid steer loaders at ground level on demolition sites
  • CPCCDE3027 – Read and interpret demolition site plans and drawings
  • CPCCLDG3001 – Licence to perform dogging
  • CPCCLHS3001 – Licence to operate a personnel and materials hoist
  • CPCCOM1015 – Carry out measurements and calculations
  • CPCCWHS2001 – Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
  • RIIWHS205E – Control traffic with stop-slow bat
  • RIIWHS302E – Implement traffic management plans
  • TLID0020 – Shift materials safely using manual handling methods
  • TLID0021 – Store and handle dangerous goods and hazardous substances
  • TLILIC0005 – Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)

Completion of Certificate III in Demolition can lead to a range of job opportunities in the construction industry, including roles such as Demolition Worker, Demolition Supervisor and Demolition Contractor
