Safe Access to Asbestos Affected Areas

10954NAT Course in Safe Access to Asbestos Affected Areas

This course is intended to provide workers in the construction industry with the skills and knowledge needed to carry out their work safely as scaffolders, electricians, plumbers, plant operators involved in sorting and/or relocation of contaminated soil or maintenance workers in an area contaminated by asbestos. It also provides skills and knowledge to workers who may be involved in clean ups such as after a bush fire as well as personnel involved in building risk assessments and inspections.

Licensing/Regulatory Information

Occupational licenses are required nationally. This unit is required for all ACM removal workersengaged in the removal of friable ACM.

Candidates are advised to consult with the relevant state and territory regulatory authorities toconfirm specific jurisdictional requirements to remove non-friable ACM.
